New guy

Hey everyone, new guy here. Loved NF, also like to play Goldeneye Source with that crowd every once in a while. Downloaded & installed NFS, haven't been seeing any servers or players (already checked the "Servers not showing up" topic to make sure I had my settings right). Anyone still play?

Quite a few people play but usually during community events only. If you are part of the Nightfire source steam group you will recieve notifications about when the community events are. They also put them under news and announcements. Hope to see you in the next event.

I'm also really new. I only just discovered this project today after torrenting the original from tpb. I loved the game on my ps2 years back, so I just had to relive it on my pc.

I'm so happy to have found a whole community that is actually recreating this masterpiece of a game. Most old games I play have dead communites whose last activity was years ago, whilst you guys have been going strong without me ever noticing or finding out about!

Please everyone keep up the great work, I'm eager to set this amazing mod up to play Lan with my friends so we can all get hit by the nostalgia.

Totally agree with you m8, although I have noticed that the forums have been quite dead for most of the summer. I am sure that will change though.

I want to help with development, but every time I try to learn how to work with the SDK I just get lost. I tried to use some youtube tutorials but they weren't very good does anybody know a good starting place for working with the Source engine.

I remember Valve had a really good Wiki. I'm not sure if Source dev is on there aswell.

What is it that you want to work on? Maps? Textures? Models? Code?

Probably maps or textures I don't really want to have to learn C++.
